TOWERS AND TREES are back! And after going on hiatus for a few years, they came back with a new single, “Head Down Heart Up” which is a real head-bopper! Much like previous jams, “Montreal”, “Free” and “West Coast Man”.
I think the last time I saw such a huge ensemble band was Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes! Although they were more of a 13-person band, this was half that – an 8-person band. But it felt like such a party on stage! Everyone was just so into it and having a good time! The fiddle player and the bass player were dancing so hard – it was awesome!
Opening for CHRIS HO‘s album release was MIKAILA TOMBE whom I’ve never heard of before (being out of touch with the music scene for over a year – I haven’t kept up with a lot of bands/artists like I used to) hails from Nanaimo, BC.
We are leaving today! We have to leave our campsite at 11am, andd I took this photo a little past 7 in the morning. I woke up once at 5am and then again an hour later and I figured it’s so nice out I really want to go down to the beach. So, I got dressed and told my friend Amy where I was going (because safety, kids).
I walked down and there were maybe a few people on the beach walking their dogs. It wasn’t windy at all! It was just perfect. Continue reading →
Checked out the Andy Warhol exhibit with my friend, UK Rob! Then headed over to Granville Island Brewery to get some food and drinks. Went on a boat that was half-occupied to what felt like a “pub-crawl boat” (aka someone’s birthday???). And then rounded the evening getting a drink at the Yaletown Brewery.
