I’ve been wanting to visit this trestle for a while now. Continue reading
First day in Thailand! We had a wonderful stay in the first Villa we were staying at (where I learnt that you could pay a fee if you flush your own poop!).
We were scheduled to go to another villa closer into town, so we decided to explore and find some lunch before we headed to our next location.
When we arrived to our next villa – we pretty much arrived in paradise to a very beautiful villa called “Jungle Village”. The staff were incredible! To get to the beach and downtown it was only a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride away where the service was provided. We used that to our advantage.
After unpacking all of our things we headed down to check out the downtown area and beach in our first Tuk Tuk excursion (on the main road)! It was…. well…. fun and smelly? Only because you can smell the exhaust from all the vehicles driving by and also the Tuk Tuk’s exhaust. But totally worth it!
It was weird to sometimes see random single gas pumps in front of people’s houses… but there they were!
Today we did some sightseeing and decided to take the cable car up to Lantau Island to see Tian Tan Buddha (the big buddha). We took the Ngong Ping 360 cable car up and got a sweet view of the islands. Below there’s a trail people can also take if they want to do hikes. It looked like it would be a nice hike – if you like a bunch of stairs! But I’m sure it’s probably not that bad, I just don’t think my knee would like it too much. Continue reading
Decided to head to Whytecliff Park today with my buddy, Adrian. We left a little later than I would have liked as I usually leave around 10/11am to beat the traffic and avoid how busy the park would be.
I think the last time I went to Whytecliff Park was in 2009. I had just gotten out of a relationship and I decided to venture off to Vancouver to explore parks and beaches because it was the only thing that helped keep my mind off of things. I guess every one has that same type of vice.
Now 7 years later and living in Vancouver, I went on a spontaneous adventure to West Vancouver. (I originally wanted to go on Saturday, but an accident happened on the main road and so I was detoured. Therefore deciding to just go the next day). Thankfully, the weather was still gorgeous.
I jettisoned off in the late afternoon hoping to arrive a couple hours before sunset.
When I arrived it was pretty much how I remembered it all those years ago: vibrant and calm.
In the middle of my treck up the side of a cliff, I noticed that on top of the tiny rock island across from me there was a couple. The tiny rock island is accessed via along the rocks and boulders that led out towards the island. The water was already elevated to where most of the rocks and boulders were submerged. I think everyone there was wondering when the couple would decide to wade there way back to the beachside.
I’m not sure words can do it justice when trying to describe the Grand Canyon.
I’m sure many people (poets, writers, etc.) have tried, but nothing can really explain how expansive and eerily quiet this canyon is until you stand right in front of it yourself. And you can really only achieve this vibe when you get away from the crowds of people taking selfies around you.

Happy 4th of July, otherwise known as, the day we surprise my friend Sarah by having her stagette, camping at French Beach!
I met up with my friend Amy to pick up a few more things and then headed over to pick up one other person. The plan was that Sarah would be going hiking with her soon-to-be-sister-in-law and she knew she was having her stagette (so that part wasn’t really a surprise) but she didn’t know exactly where it was happening and who was going to be there. This weekend I went over to Victoria mainly for my friend’s baby shower on Sunday. The ferry ride over was just amazing! I don’t really like getting out of my car to head upstairs while i’m on the ferry, but I got out of my car and walked towards the open window in the car parkade (not sure what the proper term is for that area) and the view was simply amazing!
We left Astoria and headed towards Seaside, Oregon!
We had like a few hours before our check-in time which was at 4pm. So, we had loads of time to wander around the beach and checked out the shops.
