ACCIDENTALLY OFF-ROADING IN A MINI-VAN (KONA DAY 8)

My brother-in-law turned a little early, and thought he was going the right way to the beach (he wasn’t). When we got to gravel road and later potholes, he decided to commit and keep going as we can see the ocean ahead and a few cars, so “there must be something there, right?”.

Normally I would be all for it! EXCEPT: 1) We were in a mini-van 2) My parents were not into it 3) My sister was not into it 4) My 4-year old nephew was not enjoying it 5) My 1-year old nephew was not into it, but then promptly fell asleep and 6) I was more worried about the tires.

But we committed.

HAKUNA BAY + I FINALLY GOT TO SEE A SEA TURTLE! (KONA DAY 4)

Today was a day full of activities!

Went to the Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company factory to get some shortbread cookies for my co-worker. These are by far my favourite shortbread cookies!

From there we went and spent time at Hakuna Bay. This, I remember being, where I filmed a time lapse of the sun setting. It’s nice to go earlier in the afternoon and spend some time in the water.

SWEEP ME OFF MY FEET

It’s the second to last day in Hawaii! čÖü I’m so sad, but I couldn’t have had a better second-to-last day.

We went to The Four Seasons for lunch at The Beach Tree which was a patio restaurant that overlooks the beach that they had there.

While we were waiting for our table, I wandered over to the beach (because of course I did).IMG_0020 copy Continue reading

EXPLORING HAWAI’I VOLCANOES

We headed out in the morning towards the volcanoes. It was a pretty scenic 2 hours or so drive.

We stopped at Punalu’u Bake Shop┬áthat sold some “sweet bread” and it was delicious. We got taro, mango, and guava.┬áScreen Shot 2015-11-01 at 5.23.52 PM Continue reading

POOL TIME + FAILED SUNSETS

It’s my third day in Kona, and today was just a “chill day” which consisted mainly of lounging by the pool and trying and failing at taking a time-lapse of the┬ásunset. (I’ve improved on those in the vlogs following this one. Thank god).

Here are just a few photos that I’ve snapped throughout the day:
