Jon & Roy

This is (I believe) my 14th time taking photos of JON & ROY. You can imagine my joy when they played a SOLD OUT show at the Commodore Ballroom! Which is like, a pretty big deal!

OLD MAN CANYON

Aside from being very happy for my friends JON & ROY performing there first headlining (sold out) show at the Commodore Ballroom – I was equally just as excited to see OLD MAN CANYON. I’ve been a fan of this band since their 2014 album “Phantom & Friends”. Continue reading

THE OH HELLOS

I think the last time I saw such a huge ensemble band was Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes! Although they were more of a 13-person band, this was half that – an 8-person band. But it felt like such a party on stage! Everyone was just so into it and having a good time! The fiddle player and the bass player were dancing so hard – it was awesome!

THE ELWINS

This is the first time I saw THE ELWINS perform – the first song I ever listened from them was probably “Stuck in the Middle” which was probably back in 2011/12? Continue reading

Day 1 – Krabi, Thailand

First day in Thailand! We had a wonderful stay in the first Villa we were staying at (where I learnt that you could pay a fee if you flush your own poop!).

We were scheduled to go to another villa closer into town, so we decided to explore and find some lunch before we headed to our next location.

When we arrived to our next villa – we pretty much arrived in paradise to a very beautiful villa called “Jungle Village”. The staff were incredible! To get to the beach and downtown it was only a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride away where the service was provided. We used that to our advantage.

After unpacking all of our things we headed down to check out the downtown area and beach in our first Tuk Tuk excursion (on the main road)! It was…. well…. fun and smelly? Only because you can smell the exhaust from all the vehicles driving by and also the Tuk Tuk’s exhaust. But totally worth it!

It was weird to sometimes see random single gas pumps in front of people’s houses… but there they were!

Day 10 – Hong Kong

Today we did some sightseeing and decided to take the cable car up to Lantau Island to see Tian Tan Buddha (the big buddha). We took the Ngong Ping 360 cable car up and got a sweet view of the islands. Below there’s a trail people can also take if they want to do hikes. It looked like it would be a nice hike – if you like a bunch of stairs! But I’m sure it’s probably not that bad, I just don’t think my knee would like it too much. Continue reading

Day 9 – Hong Kong

Today we visited one of Hong Kong’s oldest cemetery’s: St. Rahael’s Catholic Cemetery: Roman Catholic Cemetery (Private). What you may not know about me is that I really like exploring old cemeteries. Call it morbid or whatever, but I just like the history you can find when looking through old centuries of tombstones. I always try to see if I can find the oldest tombstone in the bunch – but in this case, it was a lot harder to do. The reason we are at this cemetery is to pay respects to family members who have passed away. When you first drive up to this cemetery it’s akin to when you first see the Grand Canyon – vast and never-ending – going for miles. Continue reading
