I’ve been wanting to visit this trestle for a while now. Continue reading
First day in Thailand! We had a wonderful stay in the first Villa we were staying at (where I learnt that you could pay a fee if you flush your own poop!).
We were scheduled to go to another villa closer into town, so we decided to explore and find some lunch before we headed to our next location.
When we arrived to our next villa – we pretty much arrived in paradise to a very beautiful villa called “Jungle Village”. The staff were incredible! To get to the beach and downtown it was only a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride away where the service was provided. We used that to our advantage.
After unpacking all of our things we headed down to check out the downtown area and beach in our first Tuk Tuk excursion (on the main road)! It was…. well…. fun and smelly? Only because you can smell the exhaust from all the vehicles driving by and also the Tuk Tuk’s exhaust. But totally worth it!
It was weird to sometimes see random single gas pumps in front of people’s houses… but there they were!
Today we did some sightseeing and decided to take the cable car up to Lantau Island to see Tian Tan Buddha (the big buddha). We took the Ngong Ping 360 cable car up and got a sweet view of the islands. Below there’s a trail people can also take if they want to do hikes. It looked like it would be a nice hike – if you like a bunch of stairs! But I’m sure it’s probably not that bad, I just don’t think my knee would like it too much. Continue reading
Today we visited one of Hong Kong’s oldest cemetery’s: St. Rahael’s Catholic Cemetery: Roman Catholic Cemetery (Private). What you may not know about me is that I really like exploring old cemeteries. Call it morbid or whatever, but I just like the history you can find when looking through old centuries of tombstones. I always try to see if I can find the oldest tombstone in the bunch – but in this case, it was a lot harder to do. The reason we are at this cemetery is to pay respects to family members who have passed away. When you first drive up to this cemetery it’s akin to when you first see the Grand Canyon – vast and never-ending – going for miles. Continue reading
Today, I decided to forgo my usual vlogging camera and just stayed with GoPro.
On Day 6, we set out to check out a Nature Sanctuary which took about 4 MTR (train stations) to get to! It was alright. I mean, it reminded me a little bit of Swans Nature Sanctuary in Victoria, BC.
It’s our first FULL day here in Hong Kong! We are staying at the Holiday Inn across for iSquare in the heart of the shopping district. I would go as far to say it was similar to Times Square in New York. Very similar vibe. Continue reading
Decided to head to Whytecliff Park today with my buddy, Adrian. We left a little later than I would have liked as I usually leave around 10/11am to beat the traffic and avoid how busy the park would be.
It has been a fun 5 days filming in the beautiful Okanagan!!!
HAPPY MAY LONG WEEKEND — I’m on the island!!
First thing I did and knew I wanted to do was fly Pooka around town! (well parts of a general area). Considering it was an epic failure flight yesterday (you can watch that video it’s titled “I CAN’T BELIEVE I DID THAT”) after I got off the ferry and understand why I wanted REDEMPTION.
I started out at Cadboro Bay (Gyro Park) (5 minutes away)
